Aritz Díez Oronoz

Born in 1988 in Hondarribia, he is architect and lecturer of Architectural Projects at the School of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country since 2018. He has carried out research on the city and the Italian Renaissance, which is reflected in his International Doctoral Thesis "Una bella sfida formale tra Quattro e Cinquecento" published, among others, in the book "La forma nuda di Francesco". His research work includes studies of the baroque square of Andoain and researches – still in progress – on the vernacular architecture of the fishermen's quarter of Hondarribia. He is currently part of the research group "Bulevares y Alamedas: los primeros espacios verdes en el País Vasco".

Since 2016 he has been working with Imanol Iparraguirre and together they have received the "Award for Emerging Excellence in the Classical Tradition" (2019) in recognition of their trajectory within traditional architecture which includes two first prizes in the Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition for their projects for Grajal de Campos (2017) and Trujillo (2018).
