Joan Vitòria i Codina is an architect from the ETSAB-UPC and co-founder of El globus vermell. He worked for the Servei Educatiu d'Arquitectura del COAC (2005-2007) and at the Escola Sert del COAC (2007). The globus vermell is a cultural association born in 2009 and promoted mainly by architects with the aim of training critical and demanding citizens with the urban environment and empowering it so that it can become a key actor in the transformation of cities towards more healthy  and sustainable urban environments. The association develops its work through three channels: cultural (guided tours, itineraries, workshops, publications, exhibitions ...), social (citizen participation, events ...) and project (design, new construction and rehabilitation under the parameters of bioarchitecture). The globus vermell is part of the Projecte Educatiu de Ciutat de Barcelona and the Council for Pedagogical Innovation (CIP) promoted by the Municipal Institute of Education. The group is a signatory of the Citizen Commitment to Sustainability. In 2012 The globus vermell received the COAC Medal in recognition of his work and in 2017 the CIP Seal of Quality.
