VAUMM

VAUMM is the coincidence of 5 architects trained at the San Sebastian School of Architecture - UPV: Javier Ubillos Pernaut, Iñigo García Odiaga, Marta Álvarez Pastor, Tomás Valenciano Tamayo and Jon Muniategiandikoetxea Markiegi. Since its foundation in 2002, VAUMM has operated under a strategy of adding up. Adding objectives, hopes, efforts and experiences, with a broad sense of curiosity and a methodology based on research. Incorporating specialists from different disciplines, from inside and outside the office, adding up knowledge to present solutions and answers at multiple scales.

Their career includes 2 nominations for the Mies Van der Rohe awards (European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture) with the "Portaviones" (2021) and "Basque Culinary Center" (2013) buildings, the project selected phase 1 in the XII Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism with the "Basque Culinary Center" building (2013), and 2 finalist projects for the previous COAVN - Dotacional awards with the "Parvulario Sansaburu" (2007) and "Basque Culinary Center" (2013) buildings.

They complete the practice of the architectural discipline with teaching at the San Sebastian School of Architecture - UPV and research, with works such as "Research on the consequences of pandemics in architectural and urban design".
